After the interception of 1,500 kilos of cocaine in the port of Antwerp, the police arrested two men in the city of Roosendaal this week when they were found searching the container used for the smuggling. It is a 26-year-old man from Madrid (Spain) and a 29-year-old man from Tangier (Morocco).
The men were presumably in the container looking for the imported drugs. The sea container was loaded with coal from Colombia. Customs inspection at the port of Antwerp showed that the coal was a coverup for the cocaine that was seized. The container did eventually get delivered to the company that ordered it.
The National Inspectorate took charge under the order of the National Parquet after the container was delivered Monday at an address in Roosendaal. Both suspects were guided today to the Commissioner in Amsterdam. Both men are held in custody for at least another two weeks.
