Over 200 Hells Angels members demonstrated this weekend in Berlin. The MC members oppose the statutory ban on publicly using and depicting their logo (a skull with wings). The Hells Angels members came from all across Germany.
The motto of the demonstration was: Freedom is our religion. The journey went from Biesdorf, located in the east of Berlin, to the famous Alexanderplatz, in the heart of the city.
In a press conference last week, announcing the demonstration, the Hells Angels stated that they want to try everything in their power to change this decision. They hope to get support from professors and lawyers.
Politicians in Berlin expressed criticism about the demonstration. Tom Schreiber of the SPD: “I find it incomprehensible that a club who calls themselves outlaws, appeals to the right of demonstration.”
