The police received seven new leads after the broadcast of Investigation Requested about the murder of Rini Ansems in the Netherlands. The 82-year-old woman was stabbed to death on January 26, 2017 in the garage of her home. When she was found she was probably already dead for three days.
Presumably, the 82-year-old died on Monday, January 23 between 15:30 and 18:45. The knife with which she was killed, was left behind in the garage. Which is now an important piece of evidence to find the perpetrator or perpetrators. It’s a knife from the Dutch brand Déluxa that was sold a few years ago in shops such as “Action”. The handle of the knife has not been found yet.
When the woman was found she still had her coat on. Police suspect that the perpetrator(s) surprised her upon her returning home. It could be that she caught a burglar in her house but it is also possible that the perpetrator(s) followed her home.
A neighbor noticed an unknown woman who Monday afternoon around 15:30 on the path between the Redemptielaan and the Sluizer Bank. She came from the direction of the house of Mrs. Ansems and stood out because the path normally only gets used by local residents. The woman is described as an Eastern European type and was dressed in a dark hoodie. She is between 20 and 35 years old, about 1.70 meters tall, slender build and has black hair. The neighbor described the woman as someone with a shabby appearance and gray face.
While Mrs. Ansems chatted with two neighbors on the corner of Redemptielaan, a person was spotted standing still across the street. It is not certain whether it was a man or a woman. One thing that is certain is that the person wore suede ladies boots. Further, this individual was completely dressed in black, including a black cap.
The victim went to the hairdresser on Saturday and visited a local supermarket on sunday. It is quite possible that on Sunday, January 22 and Monday, January 23 she visited the grave of her husband. There were fresh flowers, but police are not sure that it was the widow herself who left them behind.
