A smash-and-grab robbery has taken place at the famous London jeweler Mappin & Webb on Monday evening. Six robbers managed to leave the store with an unknown amount of valuable jewels.
According to British media, the robbers entered the business located in the Regent Street at 19.20 with a machete and a sledgehammer and began to hit the windows of the store.
They arrived on three scooters. During their escape, they left one in Regent Street and crashed another one on Oxford Street.
Mappin & Webb exists since 1775. Customers include the French queen Marie Antoinette, wife of Louis XVI, film star Grace Kelly, and Winston Churchill.
No arrests have been made.
